I just re-watched The Corporation, which is online for free now, and I started thinking on the part about how governments have so little power now compared to large multi-nationals, When there are groups so large and so powerful, and worldwide, who do they "pledge allegiance" to? If anyone? I think money and only money. They are known to operate criminally because often often doing things at least some part of time llegally is profitable. The power does lie in the consumer but only when he has options, and is aware of illegal practices and exploitation. It's scary to think, in a case like 911 many corporations didn't see it as anything more then a business opportunity. War profiteering in the corporate form.
anyway if you've never seen it or want to re-watch also:
Here's part one, it's easy to follow to part 2.
