waking up to a bombing

The other morning I softly heard the air piercing whistle of a bomb coming closer and then exploding. It gave me a scary feeling waking up, It was my clock radio, it’s set to NPR and the timing that morning was just so, My alarm’s volume turns on softly at first, and so I wasn’t quite sure if I had imagined it. But I hadn’t, it was a real sound from the Middle East. And I realized that for me it was only a three second nightmare, but for many in Iraq and elsewhere, it’s everyday reality.

that's a sobering thought, and unfortunatley these people have been living like this many years~children are growing up only knowing their 'world' in conflict.
